Paramedics carried out resuscitation maneuvers on the victim, who was quickly transported to a hospital.

According to initial information, the suspect(s) fired shots at the victim, who was alone in his vehicle, according to an SPVM spokesperson.

They then fled before the police arrived, said public relations officer Caroline Chèvrefils, specifying that no arrests were made in the case.

The scene was protected by a security perimeter while awaiting investigators and forensic identification technicians who should begin their work in the morning.

Witnesses were met by the police who had to view possible surveillance cameras, while Boulevard Marcel-Laurin is closed from Rue Poirier.

Last month, almost to the day, the Rosana restaurant was targeted with a Molotov cocktail during a series of almost simultaneous attacks on four different establishments, in less than two hours. The establishment escaped with minor damage.
