(Shawinigan) A sixty-something woman lost her life following a violent road trip in Shawinigan, Mauricie.
The swerve occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday morning on rang Saint-Mathieu, near chemin Lamothe.
“The driver, in her sixties, was traveling eastbound, towards Lac-à-la-Tortue, when she lost control of her vehicle,” said Sergeant Béatrice Dorsainville, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec ( SQ).
The driver rolled over several times and ended up upside down in a ditch.
“She was alone in her vehicle at the time of the incident. She was transported to the hospital center and her death was declared, ”said the spokesperson for the SQ.
This sector of row Saint-Mathieu was closed until around 6 a.m. to allow a police officer specializing in collision investigation to analyze the scene.
“The investigation is continuing. There is no thesis for the moment as to the cause of this exit from the road, ”said Sergeant Dorsainville.
