A 50-year-old was discovered dead at her home on the evening of Sunday August 14, 2022, in the Palmiste district of Le Lamentin. A knife was also found at the scene by the emergency services, who were alerted by neighbors. The latter had just got their hands on a man presumed guilty, in the garden of the victim.
A 54-year-old woman was found dead at her home in the Palmiste district of Le Lamentin on Sunday August 14, 2022. She was reportedly killed by a knife discovered on the spot, a tragedy that took place between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.
It was neighbors who alerted the police, after energetically arresting a man in the victim’s garden.
The alleged suspect in this homicide was taken into custody in the evening. In particular, he will have to explain his presence on the scene and specify his relationship with the deceased fifty-year-old.

In a press release dated August 15, the UFM (the Union of Women of Martinique) deplores this death and points out the responsibility of local elected officials “in the face of increasing violence” in the island.
In first reaction, we want to say our deep emotion and our disgust for this new destroyed life that nothing can explain. Once again, we cannot remain silent, and once again, we must say forcefully and together: NO! Faced with the increase in violence in our country, what role does this violence against women play in our policy proposals? NONE !
