a 5% increase from November

The news was awaited by millions of pensioners. After the basic pensions, the complementary ones should, in turn, be increased by around 5% next November for 13 million former private sector workers. A former employee of a sugar refinery, Henri Recoulet, is affected by the measure. His basic pension is 1,200 euros per month, plus 995 euros in supplement. He will therefore receive 47 euros per additional month. “It allows you to do a little extra during the month”he rejoices.

This aid is all the more necessary when the supplementary pension is the main source of income. This is the case of Thierry in Loire-Atlantique. He turned his passion into a profession: professional bass player. He receives a basic pension of 812 euros, but above all a supplementary pension of 1,501 euros. From November, he will receive 75 euros more each month. This 5% increase would cost Agirc Arrco 4.2 billion euros more each year.
