Filmed in their 4×4 on Sunday, December 19, soldiers from Vigipirate in the process of slipping in front of a migrant camp ended up getting stuck in front of the lens of photojournalist Louis Witter.
The almost surreal scene was filmed in Calais (Pas-de-Calais) on Sunday December 19 and posted on Twitter in the wake of photojournalist Louis Witter. We see a Vigipirate vehicle doing tricks in the mud, throwing water in its path. After several minutes, the soldiers end up getting bogged down, under the dumbfounded eyes of migrants, humanitarian workers and journalists present on the spot.
After asking the migrants for help, who lent them shovels, another military truck comes to pull them out of the mud. On its Twitter account, the Army deplored a scene “inadmissible“and announced the opening of a command investigation to determine the circumstances of what the volunteers on site qualify as”institutional violence“.
