An Ardéchois was sentenced Thursday for possession of child pornography images. On his computer, the police also discovered conversations with underage girls.

The Privas criminal court, in Ardèche, on Thursday October 26 sentenced a 44-year-old man to one year in prison for possession of child pornography images, reports France Bleu Drôme Ardèche. The forty-year-old is also sentenced to three years of socio-judicial supervision. During the hearing, this resident of Saint-Just-d’Ardèche claimed to have received messages on social networks without knowing the age of his interlocutors: “I received a hello, I said hello, I didn’t know they were minors”.
While in police custody, the man was seen by a psychiatrist. The latter explains that sexual prohibitions were not integrated by this man. According to the expert, “there is no pathology, he is not dangerous for himself but he is for others”.
Tens of thousands of child pornography photos
On September 27, the individual was arrested in his town for possession of child pornography images. Law enforcement found tens of thousands of child pornography photos on his computer. The police had been investigating for several weeks, after being alerted by a computer repairman who had discovered the images on his client’s computer.
Beyond the child pornography photos, the gendarmes had also discovered conversations with underage girls. The man was trying to get naked photos of them. He was then prosecuted for possession, acquisition of child pornography images and attempted corruption of a minor.
