A 32-year-old pedestrian struck in Quebec in critical condition

A 32-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a motorist in Quebec City late Thursday.

The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on 1 Avenue near 64 Street West in the Charlesbourg area.

When the police arrived on the scene, they noted “the presence of an unconscious man on the ground,” reports the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ). The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision was also there, specifies the police force.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital center in a condition considered critical, according to the SPVQ.

The latter favors the accidental thesis for the moment. An investigation was underway Thursday evening, while investigators and technicians from the Forensic Identification Unit had to travel to the scene of the accident in order to reconstruct the facts.
