A 3-year-old child reportedly shot and killed his mother after grabbing a gun on Wednesday in South Carolina, United States.
On September 21, the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 7:45 a.m. regarding a shooting.
The police then found a woman, later identified as Cora Lyn Bush, 33, a 3-year-old child and his maternal grandmother.
Mrs. Bush was transported to Spartaburg Regional Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at 9:46 a.m.
“The young child gained access to an unsecured firearm which resulted in the mother being accidentally shot,” the county sheriff said in a statement.
An investigation is continuing to determine the circumstances of the incident.
