(Montreal) The Sûreté du Québec’s crimes against person investigation service inherited a murder case after a 28-year-old man was found seriously injured in the municipality of Cantley, in Outaouais, Friday evening .
Around 11:15 p.m., police officers from the public security service of the MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais were called to go to a residence in Montée des Érables, where they discovered Karapet Nikaelwan seriously injured.
Mr. Nikaelwan was transported to the hospital center where he was pronounced dead a little later, said Sergeant Stéphane Tremblay, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.
“The elements we have so far already allow us to say that he was the victim of a murder,” says the police officer.
However, the authorities will be sparing with details on the nature of the injuries inflicted on the victim as well as the circumstances surrounding his death so as not to harm the investigation.
No arrests have been made at this time.
