The SAMU helicopter landed in Carsac-Aillac this Monday, September 5 in the early evening to evacuate a seriously injured 26-year-old man in a road accident. He collided head-on with another oncoming car. On board, a 44-year-old driver, who was only slightly injured.
The accident happened shortly after 5 p.m. According to witnesses, an old BMW arrived at high speed and tried to overtake in the middle of a turn on the road to Gourdon, the departmental 704. She hit head-on a Wolkswagen Beetle which was coming in the opposite direction.
Airlifted to hospital for multiple fractures
The driver of the BMW, a 26-year-old man from Sarlad, must have been extricated by firefighters. He suffers from several leg fractures. The SAMU doctor decided to have him transported by helicopter to the Périgueux hospital.
