A 26-year-old man hit by at least one projectile in Brossard

A 26-year-old man was hit by at least one firearm projectile near the Brossard Hotel, on the South Shore of Montreal, during the night from Monday to Tuesday.

The Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL) intervened on site around 3:15 a.m. in this case, which remains unclear.

The victim “had serious gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital,” according to SPAL spokesperson François Boucher.

The latter specifies that there is no fear for the life of the twenty-year-old, who is known to the police.

According to initial reports, the man had showed up at the hotel shortly before the episode of armed violence. It is unclear whether he was a guest of the hotel.

The investigation is underway in this case and several elements must be validated for SPAL investigators to identify the circumstances of the incident.
