A 23-year-old young woman has been missing in Le Havre since New Year’s Eve, franceinfo learned on Tuesday December 2 from the young woman’s brother. Maëva went out to celebrate the new year with friends. She was last seen around 4 a.m., during the night from Sunday to Monday, in the Decathlon des Docks Vauban parking lot. She did not return home afterward.
According to the young woman’s brother, Christophe, contacted by France Bleu Normandie and by franceinfo, his sister went out to the nightclub district near the docks of Le Havre to celebrate the New Year with two friends. Still according to Maëva’s brother, the group then separated. The two friends in question arrived at the young woman’s apartment. Not seeing her arrive, they called her. Maëva told them she was coming but never went through the door of the apartment. According to the young woman’s big sister, Stéphanie, “It was his two friends who contacted the police.”
An investigation opened by the police
His family published a call for witnesses on social networks and in the media. The Le Havre public prosecutor’s office confirmed to France Bleu Normandie on Tuesday that an investigation has been opened for a “worrying disappearance”. At the time of her disappearance, Maëva was wearing a khaki jacket and black pants. She is 1m78 tall and has a tattoo of a heart and a plane on her wrist.
