A 2-year-old girl was hospitalized in Morlaàs, near Pau, after chewing a piece of cannabis on Saturday March 30, reports France Bleu Béarn Bigorre. The drug was in the orange plastic box of a Kinder Suprise chocolate. As soon as her mother noticed the situation, she washed her mouth out but the next day, the little girl did not wake up.

The child was transported to Pau hospital where she spent several days in a coma. According to information from the prosecution, reported by France Bleu, the little girl is doing better and her condition is stable this Tuesday. The father was placed in police custody, where he was questioned. The mother was released, according to the public prosecutor of Pau. The couple, “socially well integrated and occasional cannabis user” according to the prosecution, was devastated and admitted neglect towards their daughter.
