A 15-year-old boy was stabbed early Monday afternoon at Jacques-Rousseau high school.
The event occurred towards the end of dinner time, in front of the main entrance of the establishment, located on boulevard de Gentilly Est.
According to our information, the young victim was attacked with a Swiss knife, the blade of which is only a few centimeters long.
The teenager was stabbed twice in the abdomen. He was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. His parents have been notified of the situation.
Within minutes of the attack, the police arrested a young underage man not far from the school. He will be questioned by investigators over the next few hours.
A security perimeter was erected in front of the secondary school to protect potential evidence. Witnesses were also to be interviewed by the police during the afternoon.
The circumstances surrounding this armed attack remain unknown.
Authorities have not clarified whether the suspect and victim are students at the school.
