Less than 24 hours after the release of Adnan Syed, the man at the heart of Seriala 13e episode has just been added to the famous audio series. The latter had not changed one iota since 2018.
Koenig discusses the latest legal twist surrounding the 23-year imprisonment of Adnan Syed, accused of the murder of Hae Min Lee in 1999. A Baltimore court judge ordered the release of the accused, who was aged 17 years at the time of the events, to request a new investigation, in particular because of the addition of new evidence on two possible alternative suspects. Sarah Koenig was in court in Baltimore when the announcement was made.
podcasting Serial has been downloaded over 300 million times since its release in 2014, making it one of the most popular of its kind. She also inspired a documentary about the case, shown on HBO.
