The legislative elections end in India on Saturday June 1st. The vote lasted a total of six weeks in the context of a deadly heatwave in the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to remain at the helm of the government.

The thermometer reached 44°C, but for this last stage of the legislative elections, the voters insisted on making the trip. At the national level, participation is lower than in 2019 because of the heat but above all because of the announced victory of the BJP, the Hindu nationalist party, that of outgoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the surface, its record is the envy of Indian growth exceeding 8%.
