François Grosdidier, mayor of Metz, announced that he was ready to welcome Palestinian refugees into his city. “It depends on the international organization (…) we were able to mobilize very quickly to welcome Ukrainian refugees, this is part of a humanitarian tradition of the city of Metz which is very old”, explains the guest. According to him, this war is causing considerable human damage. Cities can contact the European Ministry of Foreign Affairs to welcome Palestinians “as soon as they come out”according to the mayor.

He assures that it is not a political choice nor an announcement effect. “France plays a role which tends to pacify, to end the conflict, I do not want to give up on a two-state solution”defends François Grosdidier.
