Deeming their demands satisfied, the students of the pro-Palestinian camp installed on the grounds of the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) will pack up.
This was confirmed by a representative of the camp Thursday morning on Radio-Canada.
On Wednesday, the university’s board of trustees adopted a resolution deploring “the serious violation of fundamental human rights and the loss of civilian lives in Palestine and Israel.”
Calling for an “immediate ceasefire,” she pledged to have no direct investment in funds or companies that profit from armaments, in addition to disclosing the list of her investments each year.
More details to come.
