“Progressing on this path in a context of violence is not the right solution”estimates Wednesday May 29 on franceinfo Pieyre-Alexandre Anglade, Renaissance deputy for French people established outside France, member of the Foreign Affairs Commission and Renaissance campaign director for the European elections, while Spain, Ireland and Norway recognized a Palestinian state.

Emmanuel Macron said he was in favor of the creation of this state but “not under the influence of emotion”. This Wednesday, he also called Mahmoud Abbas to “re-form” the Palestinian Authority in “the prospect of recognition of the State of Palestine”.

Pieyre-Alexandre Anglade says he is in line with the presidential position, “What is happening in Rafah is absolutely appalling, that being said, as long as we are in this context of war and mutual attacks, unilaterally declaring the recognition of a Palestinian state would be premature and ineffective”judges the European campaign director.

“We must return to a ceasefire as quickly as possible, so that humanitarian aid can arrive on Palestinian territory, he insists, then create the conditions for political dialogue which should then allow the creation of this Palestinian state.”
