At least a thousand people gathered in the center of Paris on the evening of Wednesday May 29 to protest against Israeli bombings on the Gaza Strip for the third consecutive evening.

According to AFP journalists, the demonstrators, mostly young people, brandished Palestinian flags and chanted: “Long live the struggle of the Palestinian people”, “It’s not a war, it’s a genocide” or “Israel is murdering the children of Palestine”.

Paris: third consecutive evening of demonstration against the war in Gaza

On Tuesday evening, the gathering totaling some 4,500 people continued with an undeclared parade through the streets of the north of the capital, with some demonstrators attempting to block the northern ring road.

Many took to the streets to denounce the bombings by the Israeli army that occurred in recent days in Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip – including an attack on a tent camp for displaced people. Other gatherings were organized on Wednesday evening in France, such as in Lille and Marseille. The mayor of the Marseille city, Benoît Payan (various left) has decided to turn off the lighting in the town hall from 10 p.m.
