A 23-year-old man was stabbed to death on Tuesday May 28 afternoon in Annemasse (Haute-Savoie), France Bleu Pays de Savoie learned from the Thonon-les-Bains public prosecutor’s office. The events took place at 2 p.m., near a pharmacy and a supermarket and numerous witnesses witnessed the scene, reports France Bleu. The victim suffered several stab wounds, including one to the carotid artery, and died while being transported to hospital. The attacker then “fled in a vehicle inside which there was another person”, specifies the public prosecutor.
Around 4 p.m., a man, suspected of being the passenger of the vehicle, presented himself at the police station in Plainpalais, a district of Geneva in Switzerland. Shortly after, Swiss authorities arrested a man suspected of being the perpetrator. The Thonon public prosecutor’s office opened a homicide investigation and referred the investigation to the judicial police.
The mayor of Annemasse Christian Dupessey said “deeply shocked that this violence is in the street, committed by people who are young and that it ends with a victim killed by stabbing.” “We’re going to have to stop this violence. Life is not a video game, it’s a reality and I don’t know if everyone realizes that.” he declares.
