The tone rose sharply on Tuesday, May 28, between the LFI deputy David Guiraud and the related Les Républicains (LR) deputy Meyer Habib. PDuring the suspension of the session in the National Assembly, after LFI deputy Sébastien Delogu brandished a Palestinian flag in the hemicycle, uA heated altercation took place between the two elected officials.

While Dabid Guiraud was responding to the press, Meyer Habib interrupted him. “Get out of here !”launched the elected LFI. “We didn’t raise the pigs together, so have some respect!”replied the right-wing MP. “You’re the pig, you’re in the mud of genocide!”retorted David Guiraud, before adding : “This gentleman is a pig ! He has been defending genocide from the start! (…) He shames France, he shames the country! (…) We, on October 7, we mourned the Israeli victims.”

A few minutes earlier, Sébastien Delogu brandished a Palestinian flag in the hemicycle. This act led to a suspension of the session, then his exclusion for 15 days from the Assemblyas well as the withdrawal of half of his compensation. “He was guilty of provocation against the National Assembly”estimated the President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, who,After a sitting/standing vote, confirmed the highest sanction provided for by the regulations of the National Assembly.
