International outcry following the bombing of a refugee camp in Rafah, at least 45 people died on the night of Sunday May 26 to Monday May 27. The Israeli army first announced that it had targeted two Hamas officials before opening an investigation.
It’s a chaos of flames and screams in the night. The shelters of tents, wood and jails are taken away in a few minutes. Rescuers are trying to extract men, women and children. According to witnesses, the explosion was sudden and fire followed. Monday May 27, the day after the Israeli strike on the Rafah camp in the Gaza Strip, the displaced wandered through the rubble. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to investigate the facts. “Despite our immense efforts not to harm civilians, a tragedy has unfortunately occurred, we are investigating this incident”, did he declare. The condemnations come this Monday from all over the world. Emmanuel Macron said to himself “unworthy” and recalled that “these operations must stop”. The High Commissioner for Human Rights at the United Nations said, “horrified”.
