An investigation was opened after clashes between OL and PSG supporters on Saturday at a toll booth in Pas-de-Calais, the Arras prosecutor’s office said in a press release on Monday May 27.
The flagrant investigation was opened for acts of “aggravated destruction of the property of others by fire”, “degradation in meetings”, and “violence in meetings”. She was entrusted to the research section of the national gendarmerie of Lille-Villeneuve d’Ascq.
The prosecution specifies that “the criminal investigation must precisely determine the exact course of events, identify the victims and identify the people involved”. For now, “no perpetrator has been identified.” The investigation will be based in particular “on the use of videos and cell phones, on information from sports clubs as well as on the various testimonies collected”.
On Saturday, supporters of PSG and OL clashed at the Fresnes-lès-Montauban toll booth (Pas-de-Calais), on the A1 motorway, as part of the final of the French Football Cup which took place the same evening at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Lille. A fight broke out, “destroying one of the Lyon supporters’ buses and heavily damaging a second.” 30 supporters and eight police officers were also slightly injured during the clashes.
