What to see this week? Here are our reviews of the latest films released in theaters or on a platform.
Furiosa – A Mad Max Saga : In the rearview mirror Fury Road
“The engines rumble a little less in Furiosa – A Mad Max Saga that in Mad Max – Fury Road, released in 2015 – but which follows it chronologically. Fans of high-speed pursuits, have no fear, George Miller’s latest creation still takes place largely on long desert roads,” writes our journalist Pascal Leblanc.

Daaaaaalí! : Dalí’s delusions
“French filmmaker Quentin Dupieux signs a delicious homage to Salvador Dalí, with accents of Buñuel. In Daaaaaalí!, the famous Spanish painter is alternately, and sometimes in the same scene, played by four actors (Édouard Baer, Jonathan Cohen, Pio Marmaï and Gilles Lellouche). This surrealist delirium around Dalí – who considered his personality to be his masterpiece – is produced as a succession of mise en abyme, each more fanciful than the last,” explains our columnist Marc Cassivi.

Before I Change My Mind : The beautiful person
“As a young man, Trevor Anderson, a non-binary director using male pronouns, would have preferred not to answer when asked what gender he was. Through the character of Robin, to whom no pronouns are attached throughout the duration of Before I Change My Mind in French version), his first feature film, the native of Red Deer, Alberta, offers himself a fantasy adolescence by revisiting the 1980s with panache,” explains our journalist Manon Dumais.

Babes : Metro, work, baby
“On paper, the meeting of Pamela Adlon, co-creator, co-writer, main director and actress of the series Better Thingsby Ilana Glazer, co-creator, co-writer and actress of the series Broad CityAnd by Michelle Buteau, creator, co-writer and star of the series Survival of the Thickest, makes you dream. In reality, it is disillusioning. In fact, these three funny ladies of TV should have combined their talents to create a new series rather than producing a feature film,” writes our journalist Manon Dumais.

The Garfield Movie : A lasagna that goes wrong
“Garfield, the famous orange cat created by Jim Davis in the late 1970s, is back on the big screen in cartoons with The Garfield Movie (Garfield – The Movie in French version) from director Mark Dindal, responsible for the visual effects of Disney classics like The Little Mermaid And Aladdin. If the animation is very successful, it is the complete opposite of the story (signed by David Reynold, at the origin of Finding NemoPaul A. Kaplan and Mark Torgove), which leaves us wanting more,” says our journalist Marie-France-Lou Lemay.
