Patrick Pouyanné, CEO of TotalEnergies, declared in an interview with the financial agency Bloomberg on April 26 that he was considering a primary listing on the New York Stock Exchange. “It is up to Mr. Pouyanné to clarify his agenda,” warns Emmanuel Macron in this interview with The Express. “I can’t believe he’s moving away from France.”
“It is in TotalEnergies’ interest to stay in France,” continues Emmanuel Macron. “I think that Total has never had to complain about being French when it goes into its export markets. TotalEnergies employees are attached to France.” “I am convinced that they will mark this attachment and clarify what is rumor, and nothing else”he finished.
In this interview, Emmanuel Macron also announces additional resources regarding artificial intelligence. “I can announce to you here that we are going to put 400 million euros in addition to what had already been planned by the 2018 AI strategy”, he indicates, specifying that these investments will focus on “nine university centers, from Saclay to Toulouse, via Rennes, Nice and, of course, Paris”.
