Dorian Dreuil, political scientist, Rachel Garrat-Valcarel, political journalist and Amélie Lebreton, president of a communications agency are the guests of 19/20 info, Wednesday May 22, to talk about the European elections.
Before the European elections on June 9, the electoral participation of young people under 34 remains unknown. A study from April 2024 gives 30% voting intentions, the same figure as in April 2019. But that year, this electorate mobilized later. “Young people have the key to this election and can upset the balances we observe and the electoral dynamics”estimates Dorian Dreuil, political scientist and expert associated with the Jean Jaurès foundation, guest of 19/20 info, Wednesday May 22.
“Traditionally, European elections are decided very late”adds Rachel Garrat-Valcarel, political journalist 20 minutes, also invited. “I think the real campaign starts now”she assures. “I am a little disappointed to see that the political parties entered the campaign very late, apart from the National Rally”estimates Amélie Lebreton, president of the communications agency CarioLink, who takes the example of political lists which were decided very late. “We still have a lot of people who are not known to the general public”she specifies.
