(Saint-Jean) An inanimate body was recovered from Lake Saint-Jean by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) on Sunday.
“Around 4:30 p.m., emergency services were called to intervene on Lac Saint-Jean” near the Vauvert-sur-le-lac-Saint-Jean tourist complex, said Nicolas Scholtus, spokesperson for the SQ. .
It was fishermen who found the inanimate body. SQ nautical patrollers fished out the victim. The body will be assessed by the Laboratory of Judicial Sciences and Legal Medicine in Montreal, said Mr. Scholtus.
The SQ did not reveal the identity of the victim.
