Kylian Mbappé is absent from the Paris SG group to face Metz on Sunday May 19, during the 34th and final day of Ligue 1. The striker will therefore not play one last championship match before leaving this summer. Coach Luis Enrique also chose to do without other team executives such as the usual captain Marquinhos, Ousmane Dembélé, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz and Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The coach had made the same choice with Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé to travel to Nice on Wednesday (2-1 victory), but PSG had indicated that the two men were physically hampered, which was not the case during from the medical point broadcast on Saturday. As for Gianluigi Donnarumma, he could be replaced in goal by Keylor Navas, for a form of jubilee before the departure of the former Real Madrid player this summer.
“It will be a mixture” between senior players and usual replacements, Luis Enrique said on Saturday, keen to prepare for the Coupe de France final against Lyon next Saturday. He therefore obviously chose to physically preserve his best players during Sunday’s low-stakes match. Indeed, PSG are already crowned champions and received the trophy last Sunday at the Parc des Princes.
