“Let’s go for a fight!”, declared the former President of the United States. The current American head of state Joe Biden challenged his rival Donald Trump to agree to debate with him twice before the presidential election scheduled for November, through several messages on social networks, Wednesday May 15. The Republican candidate immediately accepted.
“Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. He has not appeared in a debate since [et] Now he’s acting like he wants to argue with me again.”Joe Biden said in a video posted on social networks. “In that case, humor me, boy. I’ll even do it twice.”launched the 81-year-old Democrat, candidate in November for a second term.
“I am ready and determined to debate against ‘Joe the crook’ on the two dates proposed in June and September”reacted the 77-year-old former president, on his Truth Social network, using one of his favorite nicknames for his opponent. “Tell me when, I’ll be there. Let’s fight!!!”added Donald Trump.
Joe Biden then declared on the social network “received and accepted” an invitation from CNN for a duel on June 27, and added: “The ball is in your court, Donald.” Joe Biden later announced on to have “received and accepted an invitation” to debate on ABC News on September 10. Two invitations immediately accepted by Donald Trump on his network.
Joe Biden’s campaign team refused to comply with the dates of the commission which usually organizes electoral debates, in particular to take into account Americans voting early. The Democrats also demand that the debate be held without an audience, in a television studio.
For his part, Donald Trump judged that the debate, “to make it more exciting”should stand in “a very large room, even if it seems that Biden is afraid of crowds”. The former president is currently appearing in New York for a case of hidden payments to a former porn actress.
