After three days of tumultuous debates, the National Assembly adopted, Thursday, January 6 in the early morning, at first reading, the bill transforming the health pass into a vaccination pass. The text was validated by 214 votes against 93 and 27 abstentions. It must now be examined by the Senate early next week, for an entry into force that the government wanted on January 15 but which should be postponed.

While the government was counting on a very rapid adoption, the examination of this text was marked by two unexpected interruptions. The first, Monday evening, when opposition deputies outvoted Emmanuel Macron’s troops and refused to extend the debates beyond midnight. The second time, Tuesday evening, after the controversial remarks of Emmanuel Macron targeting the unvaccinated.
