A pro-Palestinian encampment appears at the University of Sherbrooke

After those of McGill University and the University of Quebec in Montreal, it is the turn of students from the University of Sherbrooke to set up a camp on their campus to protest against the war between Israel and Hamas.


The newspaper The gallery reports that around ten tents were set up in front of the multifunctional pavilion early Monday afternoon, and that between 10 and 15 people planned to spend the night there.

“The camp is finally starting in Sherbrooke,” the organizers said on Instagram.

“Join the movement to denounce the genocide in Palestine, support other student camps and ask the University to publicly condemn the genocide, (to) publicly denounce Canada’s complicity, (to) call on Canada to stop the sale of “weapons, (to) disclose full investments and more,” they wrote in their publication.

In a written statement sent to The gallerythe University of Sherbrooke claims to “assess the regulatory and safety compliance of the installation”.
