LPHF | Toronto defeats Minnesota 2-0 and moves within one victory of the final

(Toronto) Jesse Compher broke the deadlock with 1:25 left in the third period and the Toronto club won 2-0 to take a 2-0 lead against Minnesota in their best-of-five semifinal series Professional Women’s Hockey League games on Friday in Toronto.


Hannah Miller added an empty-net goal for Toronto, confirming the victory for the home club in front of 8,581 spectators at the Coca-Cola Coliseum.

Kristen Campbell recorded her second straight shutout, stopping 21 shots. She made 26 saves in a 4-0 victory in the first game on Wednesday.

Maddie Rooney stopped 28 shots in front of the Minnesota net.

Game 3 will be played Monday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.
