After suspending its activities Monday and Tuesday this week due to a cyberattack that occurred on May 3, the Cégep de Lanaudière announced that it remained closed until Friday inclusive.
Joined by The duty, the management of the establishment affirmed that it was “working hard to strengthen and secure” its IT system. Some of its servers were the target of an attack last Friday. “The investigation and work are progressing well, but unfortunately it is too early at this time to resume activities,” said Marilyn Sansregret, communications coordinator.
The CEGEP will therefore maintain the closure of its establishments in Joliette, L’Assomption and Terrebonne as well as in Repentigny, where its head office is located. “The hypothesis of a return at the beginning of next week is however currently on the table,” said Mr.me Without regret.
The latter assured that “all efforts are currently being made to ensure the smooth running of the end of the session”. “The success of our students always remains our highest priority,” she stressed.
Earlier this week, management decreed the suspension of activities in its establishments on Monday and Tuesday, “so as to avoid any problems related to access to the premises, which are mostly electronic”
By Sunday evening, a new update should be sent to students and employees of Cégep de Lanaudière, she added.
