The French in the 4x400m, reigning world vice-champions, missed qualification for the 2024 Olympics on Sunday in the Bahamas.
A few months before the Paris Olympic Games, the Blues were full of surprises at the World Relay Championships on Sunday May 5. Good ones, first of all, with three qualifications for Paris 2024. Among the women, the 4x100m sprinters thus validated their ticket for the Stade de France by finishing second in these Worlds, behind the untouchable Americans. Eighth in the final, their 4x400m counterparts also punched in their tickets.
Among the men, the French in the 4x100m crossed the line in 4th position, but finally obtained bronze after the disqualification of Italy. They too will therefore see the 2024 Olympics, which is not yet certain for the men’s 4x400m. Reigning vice-world champions, the Blues were eliminated from the repechage. However, they can still secure their qualification thanks to their time achieved during the World Championships in Budapest.
