Investigation for illegal exercise of the profession | Alleged lawyer Megan Lalonde fined

Megan Lalonde, who presents herself on social networks as the “fake real lawyer pref of Quebec”, was fined $7,500.

Mme Lalonde was the subject of an investigation by the Quebec Bar following complaints from litigants saying they had been cheated by the latter. She claimed to have graduated in law from Laval University in 2020 and she regularly published photos and videos of herself in various courthouses in Quebec.

At the beginning of April, however, the Bar announced that it was carrying out an investigation into the illegal practice of the legal profession.

The professional order – whose objective is in particular to ensure the protection of the public – affirmed Monday evening that it had issued a statement of offense to Mme The Londe. “It was served in court,” confirmed to The Press Hélène Bisson, director of the communications service of the Bar.

With costs, the fine is $7,500.
