According to a recent study, the French are unaware of the European elections, which will take place on June 9.
Just over a month before the European elections, the French have a contrasting view of this election. According to a recent opinion study, it is largely unknown. Only one in two French people know that the European Parliament is made up of MEPs. A little more than half of those questioned admit to not knowing that it is a proportional election. This study also focuses on what the French think about Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
The Russian-Ukrainian conflict worries
The subject divides: 42% of French people are not in favor and 41% of those questioned say they are in favor. “It is a country that we must defend, that we must above all help”, says a woman. Another point addressed in the study, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Nearly half of the French people questioned fear that it will take us towards a third world war. 48% of them consider an attack by Russia on a NATO member country likely.
