(Sherbrooke) Sherbrooke police report the presence of false advertisements for tickets from comedian Simon Leblanc on the Facebook sales platform, Marketplace.
The suspect’s modus operandi consists of posting tickets to a comedian’s show on the site, exchanging emails with the buyer, then requesting an Interac transfer.
When the money is paid, it blocks the buyer and disappears from social networks.
Police say they are aware of the scheme and are investigating it.
Comedian Simon Leblanc, who had not yet broached the subject at the time of writing these lines, is taking his tour Here until next November.
All remaining shows are sold out, including the one at Salle Maurice-O’Bready, in Sherbrooke, on June 4.
