Gérard Depardieu placed in police custody

Gérard Depardieu faces accusations of sexual assault. He was summoned on Monday April 29 to a Paris police station with a view to being placed in police custody. The actor is the target of five complaints of sexual assault. The latest was filed against the actor on February 23 by a decorator. The latter accuses the actor of sexual assault, sexual harassment and sexist outrage on the set of the film “The green shutters” directed by Jean Becker. An investigation was opened on March 5.

The actor denies the facts

Gérard Depardieu is also the subject of accusations from at least 13 other women who claim in an investigation published by Mediapart having suffered inappropriate sexual gestures or comments from the actor. Since the start of the case, the actor has contested the facts with which he is accused. In an open letter published in Le Figarothe actor claimed not to be “neither a rapist nor a predator”.
