In the town of Marignier (Haute-Savoie), at the foot of the Alps, a teenager planned to commit an attack in the Paris region. The 16-year-old young man is of French nationality. His radical publications published on Internet had been reported to the intelligence services, who had already been following him for several months. For residents, the news is barely credible. “It’s really scary. No one is safe today”deplores a local resident.

It was a cryptic message on his social networks that triggered his arrest. The teenager was looking to obtain materials to make an explosive belt, saying he wanted to die a martyr. The Defense district (Paris) featured among the places he was targeting, particularly during the period of the Olympic Games. The prosecution has opened an investigation into terrorist conspiracy. The young man’s custody can last up to 96 hours, and at the end of which he could be referred before a prosecutor.
