CES 2022: Nvidia announces its new RTX 3090 Ti graphics card

If this year’s CES in Las Vegas is neglected by manufacturers for the reasons we know, the debauchery of new technologies is no less felt on the news feeds.

Manufacturer Nvidia has gone there with a burst of new products ranging from graphics cards to intelligent vision systems for future autonomous vehicles.

To kick off CES, Nvidia announced its brand new RTX 3090 Ti graphics card. It has 24 GB of GDDR6x video memory clocked at 21 Gb / s, which makes it faster than the RTX 3090, the fastest memory ever used.

This RTX 3090 Ti card will provide powers of 40 teraflops for shaders (compared to 36 for the RTX 3090), 78 teraflops for ray tracing (ray tracing) and 320 teraflops for the management of artificial intelligence.

To give you an idea of what a teraflops is – a term formed from the prefix ter- and the noun flops, the acronym of the English term floating-point operations per second – this unit of measurement is used to calculate the power of a microprocessor, which corresponds to a trillion floating point operations executed in one second.

Nvidia has yet to share any of the key details of its RTX 3090 Ti card, like its spec sheet, price, or release date. For comparison, the RTX 3090 card was launched at US $ 1,500.

More details will be provided later this month, according to the Nvidia website.
