China is hit by unusually heavy rainfall, with powerful storms. The industrial province of Guangdong is particularly affected.
For several days, southern China has been affected by violent weather. Torrential rains fell on Guangdong, the richest and most populous province in the country. This precipitation increases the level of rivers, and raises fears of heavy flooding. Emergency services are redoubling their efforts to save the residents. At least four people are dead, ten are missing.
Evacuations of thousands of residents
The rains that have been falling for several days in southern China have already caused damage. Several tens of thousands of residents were evacuated. In Guangdong province, thousands of people had to be relocated. According to the Chinese meteorological services, precipitation will continue this Monday in the metropolis of Shenzhen, with thunderstorms and violent winds.
