The match between Quebecer Félix Auger-Aliassime and German Jan-Lennard Struff in the quarter-finals of the Munich Tennis Open was interrupted due to rain on Friday and will be resumed on Saturday.
Struff (28e) led 7-5 and 3-1 at the time of the stoppage.
At 2-1 in the second round, Auger-Aliassime (34e) complained about the rain to the referee, who allowed the game to continue. Struff had time to win the game with balls in hand before the organizers intervened.
In the first set, Auger-Aliassime was broken for a second time in the 11the game, allowing his opponent to serve for the round.
Trailing by a break in the second set, “FAA” is trying to score a third consecutive victory for the first time since winning the tournament in Basel, Switzerland, last October.
