The president and founder of the RE/MAX real estate agency, Pierre Titley, died during the night from Sunday to Monday. His departure represents an “immense loss” for the entire industry, argued the organization in paying tribute to him.
Mr. Titley died “suddenly,” according to a statement released by the company, which did not provide further details on the cause or nature of death. “His entrepreneurial passion and deep humanism continue to be a source of inspiration for all of us,” said the executive vice-president at RE/MAX Québec, Sylvain Dansereau, in a press release.
In passing, he argued that the death of Mr. Titley “is an immense loss for the RE/MAX network, for the Quebec real estate industry and for the many causes that he supported throughout his life.”
In addition to his business vision, the deceased is in fact at the origin of the association between RE/MAX and Opération Enfant Soleil since the very first telethon in 1987.
More than 29 million dollars were raised to help the cause of sick children and finance the development of pediatric programs in Quebec.
RE/MAX also recalled Monday that since 1981 – the year he created his company – Mr. Titley has been “the driving force behind a meteoric expansion in the Quebec real estate sector”. “Under his leadership, RE/MAX has become an undisputed leader in the real estate industry, today representing more than 30% of real estate brokers and holding 44% of the market share in Quebec,” it was argued.
