A monumental performance to achieve a second Monument in eight days. A week after his solo victory on the Tour of Flanders, Mathieu van der Poel did it again on Paris-Roubaix, Sunday April 7, to win the Hell of the North for the second time in a row. Three minutes behind, his teammate Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) and Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) complete the podium.

Big favorite, the Dutchman did not suffer any mechanical problems or punctures on the cobbles, and his team played a perfect score to lead him to victory. His teammates set a very high pace to eliminate many riders, and then prevented any pursuit behind their leader when he attacked sixty kilometers from the finish. Mathieu van der Poel was thus able to raise his arms while showing his world champion jersey on the finish line of the André-Pétrieux velodrome in Roubaix. He won his sixth Monument with three Tours of Flanders, a Milan-San Remo and now two Paris-Roubaix to his name.
