World Curling Championship | Brad Gushue advances to the final

Brad Gushue and Canada advanced to the final of the World Men’s Curling Championship with a 9-4 victory over Scotland on Saturday.

Gushue will thus participate in a fifth gold medal match in as many appearances at the World Cup. He is looking for a second title after that of 2017, in Edmonton. To achieve this, he will have to defeat Niklas Edin and Sweden on Sunday.

Brad Gushue and his Newfoundland and Labrador team of Mark Nichols, E. J. Harnden and Geoff Walker took advantage of an error by Bruce Mouat’s team in the sixth end to take control of the match with three points. Gushue added three more in the eighth end and the Scots conceded the victory.

Mouat and his teammates defeated the United States 8-4 in a qualifying match earlier in the day to join Gushue in the semifinals.

Sweden defeated Italy 5-3 to qualify for the final.
