Russia claimed, Friday April 5, to have neutralized 53 Ukrainian drones in several regions. “Several attempts by the kyiv regime to carry out terrorist attacks using aerial drones have been prevented”the Russian Defense Ministry said.
In total, 53 were shot down or intercepted, including 44 over the Rostov region, according to the same source. The city from Rostov-on-Don houses the headquarters of Russian troops involved in the offensive in Ukraine, launched in February 2022. It was also the scene last June of the spectacular mutiny of Wagner’s mercenaries, who briefly seized the army headquarters before stopping their rebellion. Other regions targeted by drone attacks on Friday are Saratov, Kursk, Belgorod and Krasnodar, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
