It is in Tercis, near Dax, that the start-up Ziwig has decided to set up its new laboratory, specializing in the analysis of saliva tests to quickly diagnose endometriosis, reports France Bleu Gascogne. The company must process between 4,500 and 9,000 samples per week, coming from all over Europe.
Thanks to artificial intelligence, the markers of endometriosis, a disease which affects one in ten women in France, are detected in around ten days. A revolution since on average, a woman must wait seven years before obtaining a diagnosis.
Ultimately, this type of saliva test could be used to detect cancers, recurrences, or neurological diseases.
