Taiga Motors presented the world’s first 100% electric snowmobile at the end of 2020, an innovation considered very promising. Why then didn’t it work?
Because the commercial results have clearly not followed: the company founded in Shawinigan in 2015 announced yesterday that it would cut 72 positions and suspend its activities, despite $34 million in federal and provincial government loans. Taiga Motors, which also manufactures electric watercraft, cites a difficult economic context and an exceptionally mild winter.
