On the occasion of the release of her book “All I wanted was to run” (ed. Flammarion), Anaïs Quemener was on the set of 12/13 info Thursday April 4, to talk about her fight against cancer.
At the age of 24, Anaïs Quemener learned that she had an aggressive form of breast cancer. Thursday April 4, the athlete was on the set of 12/13 info to talk about his book entitled All I wanted to do was run. “I was young, I saw three doctors over the course of a year (…) who didn’t think it was cancer,” remembers the marathon runner.
“He was there to get me off my couch”
Anaïs Quemener approached her cancer like a competition. “I experienced my illness like a marathon, or, in difficult times, I experienced it like the thirtieth kilometer wall”, she confided. To get through this ordeal, Anaïs Quemener was also able to count on the support of her family, and in particular that of her father. “During the chemo treatments, obviously, there were days when it was more complicated. On those days, he was there to get me off my couch”she assures.
